Infused water : your ally for losing weight and detox


During one of our cooking classes in Paris a few weeks ago, we showed our guests how to prepare the Detox Water and all of them were very enthusiastic about it. Thus, we would like to share with all of you how to prepare them, its benefits and a few recipes ! We are convinced you will start drinking more water as it is essential for your health through this new and full of flavor healthy ally.

What’s the détox water?

The Detox water is your new daily water, infused with some simple ingredients which help to eliminate toxins of the body. It is an excellent way to improve your health.

It is often very difficult for some people to drink the 1,5 liters of water recommended a day. The main reason being that those people are not really keen on drinking water. They rather have drinks with some “taste” such as sodas and juices. Neverthelless, the only way of hydrating your body and eliminating toxins is to drink water. Thus, to help to reach the daily consumption of water, we choose the flavored water, also called « detox water ». Drinking one of these waters is undoubtedly the best option to save up on calories without compromising the taste. Thus here is how to transform a decanter filled with water in a much more exciting and healthy, delicious, refreshing, colored drink. You will love the idea!

The benefits 

The detox water is a delicious, low in sugar, low in calories water rich in vitamins and minerals. An intelligent way to hydrate your body.

You want to strengthen your immunity, to eliminate bloating, to calm stomach pains, to lose weight or simply to relax ? The detox water is ideal for you.

The ingredients 

This is not only made with a few slices of lemon in the water. Think big. Infuse your water with the generosity of the nature: fresh fruits, nourishing vegetables, aromatic herbs and luxurious spices; which represent the biggest and the most diversified pharmacy of the world. All these products bring much more than flavor. They also bring all the healing power of its ingredients.

These waters contain ingredients as the lemon which helps to eliminate toxins of your body, some mint which helps in the digestion, the cucumber which contains anti-inflammatory properties and the ginger which is a painkiller and contributes to the digestion. Certain waters contain melon, raspberries and other ingredients which are also healthy and beneficial.

The rule of Hippocrates that goes : ” food is your medicine and your medicine is your food “ is clearly proved by detox water.

How to prepare?

Nothing else is more simple. You only need to pour a pure and little mineralized water on some fruits, vegetables and spices (rinsed well) and to let infuse at least half an hour in the fridge. You may even make a second infusion with the same ingredients. Through infusion, fruits and vegetables release vitamins and antioxidants that will contribute to the proper functioning of your body and your organs in charge of eliminating the toxins, such as the liver, the skin… Attention however, vitamins A, D, E and K are liposoluble thus they will not release in the water.

In its quality of alternative to simple water, the juices or the sodas, the detox water is also going to have some taste and be a source of freshness. The ideal choice for summer!

Do you want to try? Here are a few recipes that we recommend:

1. Cucumber, strawberries, lime & mint 


  • 1 cucumber.
  • 1 branch of mint.
  • 2 limes.
  • 15 strawberries.
  • Ice.

2. Blueberries & orange detox water


  • 2 oranges cut in dices.
  • 1 handful of blueberries.
  • Ice.

3. Summery 


  • A few slices of watermelon.
  • 1 sliced lime.
  • A few mint leaves.

Preparation (for these 3 recipes):

  1. Place the fruits inside a jar or something similar.
  2. Add fresh water and ice.
  3. Put the jar into the bridge for at least half an hour and let the fruits infuse in the water.
