How well do we listen

08/29/15

Often we listen but are not present whilst we do it. We might be lost in our minds thinking about things that need to be done, in the past and details that have irritated us, interiorly judging the person in front us, etc… Being in the future, past, judgement, duality, separation are side effects of an over active mind.

When we are in the present moment we become mindful of the conversation and our presence changes. In this space, mind becomes quiet, the “little me” subsides and leaves place to pure reception and communication. Through that intense listening we can take a glimpse of the true person lying behind the issues and emotions discussed. Only then, through that moment of intense communion, we can seek for words of wisdom from the depth of our being.
